Fitting and securing

Prepare your own hair first

Clips hold on hair, not on scalp. Backcomb a small section at each clip position, or tease it lightly — a flat, freshly conditioned section will let the clip slide all day.

Where the clips go

Front clips sit about 2 cm behind your own hairline, never on it. Side clips go above the ear, back clips at the crown. Open every clip before placing the piece and close them one at a time, front first.

Aligning the parting

Line the parting up with your own before you close the back clips. Once the back is fixed, the front cannot be shifted without starting over. Blend by brushing a few of your own front hairs over the edge.

If it aches by the afternoon

That is tension, not fit. Move the clips a centimetre and alternate positions day to day. A piece that hurts is a piece you will stop wearing.
